Squeebles Punctuation is the newest installment in the popular Squeebles series, developed in collaboration with educators. Tailored for children aged 5 to 11, this app provides an engaging platform for practicing various aspects of punctuation.

The narrative involves aiding the Squeebles in escaping from the antagonistic Grammar Ghost and Punctuation Pest, who are wreaking havoc on Squeeble Island. By answering punctuation-related questions across four distinct game modes, children not only enjoy themselves but also work towards rescuing 24 characters from their predicaments.

The four game modes are:

• Punctuation Placement - Players are tasked with inserting punctuation marks into the appropriate positions within a range of sentences. The five categories of punctuation include:
  • Full stops and capital letters
  • Question marks and exclamation marks
  • Commas
  • Colons, commas, and semi-colons
  • Speech marks
• It's or Its - This mode addresses the common confusion between the possessive "its" and the contraction "it's," allowing children to discern context within sentences and fill in blanks appropriately.
• Possessive Apostrophes - Players drag apostrophes to their correct positions, taking care to consider whether nouns are singular or plural (e.g., the boy’s apples vs. the boys’ apples). Visual cues assist beginners, while more advanced users receive text-based hints.
• Contraction Capers - This mode prompts users to provide the correct contraction for given phrases (e.g., you have = you’ve), encompassing common contractions in US English.

Most game modes feature multiple difficulty levels, allowing younger users to start with foundational punctuation, such as full stops and capital letters, before progressing to more intricate concepts.

The app employs a reward system that encourages continued practice through correct answers. Possible rewards include opportunities to participate in a mini-game involving a hot air balloon race and the chance to earn new Squeeble characters, along with stars that can be exchanged for balloons in-game.

A secure Parent/Teacher Zone offers insights into each child's progress through a stats section. This feature tracks performance over a 28-day period, detailing scores, answered questions, and incorrect responses for targeted improvement.
